Harold Milton Meadows March 22,1941 - Feb. 5, 2017 Lois Mae Sollenberger May 8,1941 - Feb. 2,2017 Delle Morgan Scott Nov. 8,1916 - Feb. 8,2017 Harold Milton Meadows, Jr., 75, of Union Point died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017. Memorial services were Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 at Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point with Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating. Burial was private. Milton was born March 22, 1941, in Washington, GA, to the late Harold Milton Meadows, Sr. and Mary Meeks Meadows. He grew up in Union Point, where he received his edu cation from Union Point High School. After high school, he received a Business Management Degree from Marsh Business College and an Electronics Degree from Clarks ville Tech. He married the former Nita Moon on June 7, 1992 and they lived in Union Point. His working career began in Atlanta as an Associate for the First National Bank of Atlanta, then the Cherokee Town and Country Club. He moved to Pensacola, FL, where he worked for Roadway Inn and then to Mobile, AL working for Holiday Inn. When he returned to Greene County he owned and operated Milt’s Army Navy Store in Greensboro. Then Milton worked for the Union Point Post Office as a mail carrier. After retiring from the post office, he worked for McCommons Funeral Home and Callaway Funeral Home as a receptionist and funeral assistant, leaving due to his health. He was a faithful member of the Bethesda Baptist Church. A passion for fishing and boating accompanied his love for collecting guns. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Milton was preceded in death by Natalie Rose Broome, his previous wife and the mother of his children and a stepson, Anthony “Tony” Worthen. Survivors include his wife, Nita Meadows of Union Point; three children, David Meadows of Union Point, Julie Davenport (Darren) of Greensboro and Yalonde Tanner (Hugh) of Covington; a sister, Susan Higdon (Mark) of Greensboro; eight grandchildren, Alex Stoneci- pher (Jenny), Hiliary Conn (Billy), Cliff Worthen, Meagan Worthen, Karlea Tanner, Natalie Chastain Davenport, Victoria Davenport and Spencer Tanner; five great-grand children, his beloved dog, Candy and grand-dog, Gilbert other relatives, and many friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 18 at 11am at Lake Oconee Lutheran Church, 1089 Lake Oconee Parkway, Eatonton, GA; on Saturday, March 18 at 11am at Faith Lutheran Church, 4515 Dobie Road, Okemos, MI; and in June in Woodbury, PA, near her family cemetery. Lois was born May 8,1941 to William and Vera (Amick) Helsel in Holidaysburg, PA. She married Harold M. Sol lenberger August 31, 1963, having celebrated their 53rd anniversary in 2016. Lois is a graduate of Northern Bedford High School and a 1963 honors graduate of Shippensburg University. She did graduate work at Indiana University, Bloomington and worked for IU in the Research Center for Anthro pology, Linguists, and Folklore. Later, she was controller of Publicom and an accountant for Books Done, both in Lansing, MI. She served with her husband as treasurer of two successful gubernatorial campaigns. She was a life-long Lutheran and current member of Faith Lutheran of Okemos, MI (ELCA) and Lake Oconee Lutheran of Eatonton, GA (Missouri Synod). She was a firm believer in Christ’s Work of Grace and lived her life accordingly. Lois suffered for many years from a variety of illnesses, mainly Addison’s disease that resulted in much pain and discomfort. She lived through these impedi ments with loveliness, toughness, and enthusiasm for life, her children, her churches, and her career. She supported her husband in numerous positions within Michigan State University’s accounting and MBA programs, known for her hosting, entertaining, and editing. She was particu larly active in the Community Volunteers for International Programs at MSU, chairing the Scholarship Committee and leading the Gift Shop of the annual Global Festival. She traveled extensively with her husband as part of MSU’s international programs, embracing the cultures of over 20 countries at last count. Lois was an active collector. Most notable of her passions were items related to candy and chocolate making, Chinese and Tibetan jewelry, pie birds, and books related to Peter Rabbit and fairytales. Greatest among her collections were the friends she made wherever she went. She lived a full and loving life in spite of constant physical limitations and evolving health issues. She is predeceased by her parents; a sister, Joyce Clouse and a brother, William Helsel. Lois was the loving mother of Kristin Lee (Daniel Stupar) Sollenberger of Wakefield, RI and Alan William (Stacy) Sollenberger of Marietta, GA. Also surviving are four gifted and caring grandchildren; Emma Lynn, Brennan Scott, and Gavin Boice Sollenberger of Marietta, GA and Amick Kalief Stupar Sollenberger of Wakefield, RI; three brothers, Paul (Margie) Helsel and David (Sharon) Helsel of Woodbury, PA and Merle (Janelle) Helsel of New En terprise, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews, mostly living in the Morrison Cove area of Blair and Bedford counties in Pennsylvania. Thank you for your inward desire to see all me free at last. Delle Morgan Scott of Union Point, died Wednes day, February 8, 2017 at Greene Point Health Care & Rehabilitation. She was 100 years old. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Burial will be private, and held in Greenlawn Cemetery in Union Point. Mrs. Delle retired from the Greene County Public School System after teaching for a number years, where she influenced the lives of many young people in Greene County. Born in Dearing, GA November 8,1916, she was the daughter of the late Lucius Morgan, Sr. and Georgie Eunice Langham Morgan. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Union Point, where she was active in many of the church activities including Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Union Point Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Oliver Scott, Jr.; a son, Owen Oliver “Scotty” Scott, III; and siblings, Margaret Morgan Himebaugh, Jackson M. “Jack” Morgan and Lucius “Rusty” Morgan, Jr. Survivors include a son, James M. “Jimmy” Scott, of Union Point; a special niece, Jamie Himebaugh Smith and husband Mike of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Chad Delan Scott of Frederick, Md, John Owen Scott and wife Deirdre of Sarasota, FI, Tara Eden Scott Kendall and husband John of Jacksonville, FI and Dr. Buck Andreu Scott and wife Shawn of New Orleans, La; six great-grandchildren, Sage Taylor Scott, Madilynn Delle Scott, John Owen Scott Jr. all of Sarasota, FI, Owen Scott Kendall, Nora Grace Kendall both of Jacksonville, FI, Evelyn Lea Scott of New Orleans, La and a number of other relatives and friends. Joseph Robert Farkas June 9,1978-Feb. 11,2017 Joseph Robert “Joey” Farkas, age 38 of Eatonton, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 17,2017 at Grace Fellowship in Greensboro with Rev. Jimmy Long of ficiating. Pallbearers were Tim Jenkins, Matt Salata, Ken Jenkins, Ken Farkas, Pat Farkas and Chris Melny- chenko. Joey was born in Monroe, Michigan June 9, 1978 and was the son of Michael Richard Farkas and Deborah Sue Jenkins Farkas of Greensboro, GA. Joey spent twelve years in Monroe, Michigan and then moved to Conyers, GA where he lived for ten years and graduated from Heritage High School. Sixteen years ago, he moved to Eatonton. He joined the United States Army and served his country as a paratrooper while stationed in Germany for two years. Since he was eighteen, Joey was employed by his father, Mike’s Painting and worked with him six days a week. They worked together painting forty-eight houses for Habitat for Humanity. The social aspect of Habitat for Humanity meant so much to Joey. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed kayaking, fishing, camping and hunting with bow and arrow. He loved his Harley-Davidson and going on charity rides. Joey had a great personality and enjoyed being with his friends. Walking his beloved dog, Charlie was one of his favorite pastimes. Survivors include his mother and father, Mike and Debbie Farkas of Greensboro; a sister, Christine Farkas of Greens boro; a brother, James Farkas (Robin) of Covington; nieces and nephews, Nathan, Jerimiah, Sean, Mallory and John, a number of aunts, uncles, other relatives, many friends and his beloved dog, Charlie.
