Michael Stone michael@lakeoconeenews.us The Greensboro Police Department arrested a man who allegedly robbed the BB&T bank in Greensboro on the afternoon of Feb. 22. According to the police department, Anthony Craig Yearwood, 30, of a Greene County address, walked into the bank sometime after noon and demanded money. He told bank employees that he had a gun and was prepared to use it, but it was later determined that he had no gun. After the cash was put into a Mc Donald’s bag and given to him, he left the bank and walked to his car which was parked in the post office parking lot. He didn’t get far, however. He made a couple of right turns out the parking lot with two unmarked Greensboro Police units already in pursuit. According to reports from the Greene County Sheriff s Office, Deputy Sergeant Moore positioned his vehicle in front of the suspects vehicle to block it. Moore then exited his vehicle and ordered the suspect out of the vehicle at gunpoint. Trenton Brown III Tuesday. Frank Don Causey, 26, was charged Dec. 20 with one count murder of 63- year-old Lydia Huggins Ivanditti. She was found dead in her Walnut Street home Dec. 2 by a family member. No one was hurt but traffic was backed up for about two hours just two miles from the Greensboro-Lake Oconee exit as SEE WRECK » AlO An automobile transport truck was involved in a three-vehicle accident on 1-20 eastbound at mile marker 128 on Friday, Feb. 24. Police say this truck hit the back of another truck that was carrying railroad axles, some of which flew back into the cab of the truck that hit it. No one was injured. Firefighters rescue dog trapped in well Elements of the Morgan County Fire Department with an assist from Bo’s Wrecker Service pulled a dog out of a well more than 40 feet deep last Saturday, according to Fire Chief Jeff Stone. Morgan County dispatch received a call from a Morgan County resident of 1771 Centenni al Road around noon who stated that the family’s dog had fallen in to an old well. They reported that the well was approximately 30 to 40 feet deep, and that the dog could still be heard barking. According to Chief Stone, Morgan County units from stations 16 (Madison), 9 (Rutledge), 12 (West Road), 5 (Godfrey), and 2 (Central) as well as National EMS responded.
