Henry Timberlake and Cherokee leader Ostenaco as they journeyed to each other's countries in 1762, as Emissaries of Peace. The contrast between their cultures is shown in this exhibit. The exhibit is based on Timberlake's Memoirs, along with period artwork, artifacts from archeology and historical collections, and other 18th century accounts. The center is also hosting a gallery show of tradition al carved wooden masks, all of which are available for purchase. Thursday, March 16-Saturday, April 22 Most exhibitions focus on the finished work of art and the end result of an artist's creative process, but Tools of the Trade emphasizes and highlights the materials and processes used by Steffen Thomas during the creation and production of his works of art. By showcasing the studio tools, sketches and models that Thomas utilized, this exhibition offers an intimate look into Thomas as an artist and an individual. Pleasant Baptist Church in partnership with the Putnam County Division of Family and Child Services invites you to participate in the 2017 Proclamation and Pinwheel Planting event on the Putnam County Court house lawn in Eatonton. In addition to strengthening muscles, and improving flexibility and balance, Tai Chi can reduce stress with its meditative focus. This class is a good way to get ready for spring and summer activities. Certified instructor A'Keti Avila-Mayweather is returning to teach a six- week class on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. The class fee is $40. No previous experience is necessary. Since 1974, the rodeo, orga nized by UGA's Block and Bridle Club, has showcased the talents and skills of UGA students who are seeking future careers in agriculture.
