The deadline is Monday at 1 p.m. news@lakeoconeenews.us MORGAN Sunday, April 30-Saturday, May 27 The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is proud to announce the opening reception of Placing the Capstone III, the third annual "College Connections" exhibition featuring gradu ating studio art majors from Professor Kristin Casaletto's capstone class at Augusta University. Twenty artists will be showcased in this group, and the works will include paintings, photography, sculpture and ceramics in styles ranging from representational still life to surrealism. Friday, May 12 The Country Road Cruisers Springtime Cruise-In and Car Show will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in downtown Mad ison. Registration begins at 5 p.m. We will close off West Jefferson Street from Main Street to the Town Park for the cars and our DJ. Spectators can enjoy the free show with cars from around Georgia, Alabama and the Caroli- nas. Car show participants pay only $15 and there will be over 20 awards and trophies. Saturday, May 13 The Madison in May Road Race, hosted by the Madison Lions Club and benefiting Morgan County Young Life, is once again coming to town. The race is a southern tradition in Morgan County. We will have a 5K, 10.2K and 1 Mile Fun Run. You can register to run the race on www. active.com (search for Madison in May). The Madison Artists Guild invites everyone to come and cel ebrate the unveiling of the 2017 Great Art Wall of Madison from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Madison Artists Guild Gallery on Main Street. For the second year in a row, we'll have the entire wall on display. Those who purchase $30 tickets will be in the drawing to receive one of the canvases as we dismantle the wall. Monday, June 26-Sunday, July 1 This summer will mark the third year that Festival Hall hosts the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) summer camp in Greensboro! The camp will provide an exceptional the atrical experience for area campers ranging from rising first graders to 12th grade students. The camp week will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. This year's chosen production is "Jack and the Beanstalk." The MCT tour ing productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props, and makeup. MCT touring actors and directors will conduct the camp and rehearsals throughout the week and end with a 3:00 p.m. Saturday matinee of the production. Certified instructor A'Keti Avi- la-Mayweather is returning to teach a 6 week class on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. The class fee is $40. No previous experience is necessary. Saturday, May 20 The Winterville Marigold Festival began over 30 years ago as a way to beautify and renovate the town and for the purpose of promoting friendship. Each year the festival features juried arts and crafts, barbecue and other food vendors, dancing and entertainment in the park, the Mari gold 10K, parade and other events.
