The DDA had promised neigh

sales would be permitted at the store
located at the corner located at the

Madison establishment Crowe’s
Bar-B-Que, in business since 1991,
is pursuing plans to move from its
current location to the Madison
Flea Market, just across the street.
Phillip Crowe, owner and
operator of the iconic restaurant and
Flea Market property owner John
Nabors spoke to the city council
during last Friday morning’s work
session to seek guidance on how to
move forward with relocation plans.

ignated as a single-use building, so
it must be reclassified as a shopping
center before Crowe can set up shop.
This reclassification has thus far
been uncontroversial and required
only for Nabors to send city planner
Mollie Bogle a letter declaring their
intent.
The council seemed excited about
the possibilities the impending move
will open up, and councilwoman
Chris Hodges drew a comparison
with Atlanta’s famous Ponce City
Market, a development project that
