Pre-trial hearings held for murder case

Frank Causey’s version of the

Deputy-involved
shooting still
being investigated
GBI not commenting on
status of Robinson autopsy

According to law enforcement
officials, at this point there is no
update to report on the status
of the investigation into the
shooting of a 47-year-old man
by a Greene County deputy.
Charles David Robinson was
pronounced dead on arrival at
Good Samaritan Hospital in
Greensboro after the Aug. 25
incident.
Joe Wooten, the Georgia
Bureau of Investigation special
agent in charge of the case,
would not say if the autopsy
slated to be done by the medical
examiner’s office in Decatur has
been completed.
“We still consider this an
on-going investigation and have
no comment,” said Wooten.

that produce milk to feed Georgia
families, agriculture in this state is
diverse and faces a wide range of
challenges. University of Georgia
President Jere W. Morehead and
state leaders learned more about
these challenges and northeast
ern Georgia’s farms, nurseries and
the agritourism industry Tuesday
during the annual farm tour.
“As a land-grant institution, the
University of Georgia is committed
to helping our state’s agriculture
industry thrive,” said Morehead.
“Today we were reminded not only
of the far-reaching scope of agricul
ture in Georgia but also of the vital
partnership between the university
and farmers across the state.”

Man charged with DUI after driving car into truck stop

Joseph Aaron Wilson of Eatonton
was charged with DUI - drugs, less
than safe; possession of marijuana;
open container.
At 5:10 a.m. on Sept. 23, officers
responded to reports that a vehicle
had crashed into the TA Truck Stop
on Eatonton Road.
Callers stated that the vehicle was
stopped against the building but the
driver was still attempting to accel
erate.
The caller then stated that the
driver appeared to be asleep behind
the wheel and that he was attempt
ing to wake him up.
When officers arrived to the scene
the driver (Wilson) had awakened.
Officers noticed a handgun
within reach of Wilson; he was
asked to step out of the vehicle.
Wilson told officers he was just
“sleeping it off’ in his vehicle near
