The Greene County
Chamber of Commerce
held its annual Taste-n-Jam
Community Celebration at
Oconee Brewing Company
on Monday.
“This is actually the 12th
yearwe’vehadthe event,” said
Hayley Callaway, member
ships and event coordinator
for the chamber.
“Before, it was called the
Tasteful Event. This is the
second year we’ve called it
the Taste-n-Jam.
“We hold it each year as
a way to showcase local
restaurants and businesses,
as well as invite people into
downtown Greensboro.”
The event is usually held
downtown, but this year the
threat of inclimate weather
forced the event inside
Oconee Brewing.
The Jack Bartley Band,
one of the most exciting and
entertaining parts of last
year’s event, is back by pop
ular demand.
“We had (The Jack Bartley
Band) last year and got so
many great comments, we
f efectedf, <1 promise to advocate for the goocf of
:Madison with integrity, openness, ancf cfifigence,
whife respecting the opinions ancf concerns of others.
Issues:
• Preservation of Madison’s historic character is
critical.
• Zoning process must be open, transparent and
public.
• Needed growth must be managed, smart and fair.
• Tourism and small business reduce reliance on
property taxes.
• West Washington Gateway project must be city
priority.
• Will support recreational opportunities such as
Lambert Park.
• Planning needed now for Middle School closing in
Canaan.
