Howard Stan Pair January 7,1929 - Oct. 25,2017 Howard Stan Pair, age 88, of Greensboro died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens. Funeral services were Monday, October 30, 2017 at Walker United Methodist Church with Rev. John Pike officiating. Interment followed in the church cem etery. Pallbearers were Doug Burt, Dick Lebby, Ray Caroland, Tom Collier, Richard Woodward and Byron Lombard. Honorary pallbearers were Harry Singer, Charlie Chupp and Ralph Beasley. Mr. Pairwasborn in Marietta January7,1929 andwasthe son of the late John William Pair and Annie Guinn Pair. He graduated from Fitzhugh Lee High School in Smyrna and married the former Audrey Wilson December 20,1948. In 1986,while still living in Smyrna, they purchased a house in Greene County and became weekenders. He was the owner of Independent Refrigeration Supply, retiring in 1997 and then moved to their lake house full time. Stan was a member of Walker United Methodist Church where he was a former trustee. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed road trips, yard work, his iPad and crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Pair Luffman. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Pair of Greensboro; a grandson, Rhoby J. Luffman ofCumming; asister, Geraldine Humphries of Atlanta; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Linda Luffman, several relatives and many friends. Memorial services were Friday, October 27, 2017 at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment followed in Penfield Cemetery. Mrs. Jarrell was born in Marshalltown, AL and was the daughter of the late Ranchel Paul Burgess and Lula Bell Henderson Burgess. She attended school in Crawford and married Robert Allen Jarrell of Penfield September 2,1966. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Quail International and also worked in the kitchen at Head Start. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and watching wres tling and soap operas on TV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Jarrell and all of her siblings; Linbergh Burgess, Wilburn Burgess, Carl Burgess, Cleo Burgess, Fred Burgess, Marie Burgess Chandler and Yvonne Geter.
