The town of Bostwick celebrated its rich agricultural
history last weekend at the annual Cotton Gin Festival.
Visitors from near and far flocked to the town on Nov. 4 for
the daylong event. Each year, the town’s cotton gin opens
to tourists, giving them a front row seat to how cotton goes
from the field into bails.
Beyond exploringthegin,festivalgoers weaved their way
through arts and craft vendors situated in a pecan grove.
The annual antique tractor parade was led by the 2017
Bostwick Cotton Gin Festival Cotton King Earl Nunn and
followed by numerous tractors, vehicles and civic groups.
The festival had something for people of every age
providing kids with bounce houses and games, as well as
musical performances and a wide variety of fare at vari
ous food trucks and vendors. For the second year, cotton
enthusiasts were able to pick cotton from a field right in
town and take photographs with the crop. Proceeds from
the event wentto keepingup the historic Susie Agnes Hotel
and other needed city improvements.
