Michael Stone michael@lakeoconeenews.us Reminiscent ofa scene from the film “Pulp Fiction,” a Greensboro man walked into the McDonald’s on Main Street last Monday afternoon and announced “this a robbery.” He is nowin jail. According to the Greensboro Police Department, James Derek Walker, 38, of 1770 Allen Valley Circle, Lot No. 130, Greensboro, entered into McDonald’s located on 2231 South Main Street, made his intentions known and then ordered everyone to lay down on the floor. Greensboro Police officers soon arrived on the scene, however, and made contact with Walker. No weapons were found on his person. He was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and criminal attempt to commit robbery. State, defense rest in Causey murder trial Ex-girlfriends testify about being abused Lynn Hobbs lynn@lakeoconeenews.us Both the state and defense rested Tuesday afternoon in the murder trial of Frank Don Causey, as of The Eatonton Messenger’s press time. Testimony was expected to resume Wednesday morning with rebuttal witnesses. The trial began Nov. 6 for Causey, who was charged with the Dec. 2, 2016, murder of Lydia Ivanditti by strangulation and drowning. MORGAN COUNTY Husband in jail despite fire, suicide attempt T. Michael Stone michael@lakeoconeenews.us A Morgan County man being served with arrest warrants after allegedly assaulting his wife apparently tried to slice open his arms and set fire to his own house when Morgan County deputies arrived on the afternoon of Nov. 8. KimberlyDaniellePaden told Sergeant DerrickReid of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office that her husband, William Howard Paden, 47, of 1101 Vfw Lane, punched her in the stomach, grabbed her by the arm and threw her into a glass coffee table. She also said Paden took her cell phone and keys and would not let her leave the home for two days. According to the incident report obtained from the Morgan County Sheriffs Office, Paden also kept her in a bedroom closet for hours at a time by holding his body against the door.
