According to an incident report obtained from the Morgan County Sheriff s Office, the couple found a suitable trailer for their needs on Craigslist for $1,000. The seller, identified as Heather Marks in the report, con tacted the buyers in a text message and wanted to conduct the sale through Ebay. She asked the buyers to purchase two Go Bank cards and load them with $500 each. The buyers registered both cards, but the seller responded that the cards needed to be unregistered. The buyers returned to Walmart and bought two more Go Bank cards on Dec. 2. The card information was forwarded on to Marks, and the buyers received an email confirmation from ebay@buyerprotection.us. However, Ebay says that is not a legitimate Ebay address. Efforts to cancel the transaction and recover the funds were unsuccessful. As it turned out, the phone number used by Marks was from an online texting service.
