This society is somewhat different from other honor organizations, be cause It recognizes high scholarship by awarding memberships to stu dents in many different fields, who are seeking various degrees, and Is not confined to any one special field. The number of students eligible for membership this year was very large, but all the vacancies are not yet filled ntid there will he another election to the society In April. Bulldog Cag ers Get Both Games From Floridians Plashing sensational basketball in both games, the Georgia Bulldogs defeated the University of Florida five in Gainesville last Friday and Saturday. A last minute rally, when the score was 35-33 against them, enabled the Georgians to win the first affair. With 60 seconds to go Florence and Keen each shot a goal, making the score 3 7 to 35. Running up 17 points in the first ten minutes of play, the Georgians put the second game on ice Satur day night. The work of Captain Florence, who garnered 16 points for his team, was especially bril liant.. Final score, 40 to 30. Second game line-up: Georgia (40) Pos. The quality of material on hand points to a successful year. Ringmen returning from last year are: Billy Birchmore, Carlton Jester, Captain Gene Haley, H. F. Johnson, Theodore Firsbee, Wilson Kemp, Joe Cummings, and Billy Carroll. The boxing schedule includes meets with Duke University, V. M. The Gulf men showed superior pass ing. floor work in general, and shoot ing. The Georgia men took about as many shots ns their opponents hut were unable to make the sphere go through the basket, Try ns they did, there was a meagre two point score (by Keene) to meet that of twenty of the visitors at the end of the first half. Wilder was the main stay o ft he Gasmen at the forward’s position, getting eight points in the first half O’Conner, guard, was creditable in his position and covered the floor in rare style. In the second period, the Bull dogs made a valinnt effort to redeem their position, and although they outscored the Atlantlans in this period, it was not enough to fill the Kap Incurred in the first half, and final count was 30-16. Florence was responsible ofr seven points to lead the defenders of the Red and Black- Wilder led the Gulf team with 10 points, followed cloeely by Nichols, center, with nine.
