New System of Debating is Tried By Demosthenians The Demosthenian Literary society of the University of Georgia gave a French twist to its weekly meeting Wednesday night. The debate was carried on as an Impromptu discus sion conducted in the manner used in the French schools. The debate, " Resolved, That the Governor of Georgia Should Have a Four-Year Term," followed the oration deliv ered by Pryor Fitts, and the decla mation by Charles Hope. The debate was begun by a speaker I who talked for several minutes for one side of the question and then arbitrarily appointed some other speaker to lake the opposite side. This form of debating was well re ceived by the society and a lively discussion on the subject resulted. Those who took the affirmative side were (). C. Joiner, Market, Smith, McAfee. MeCliing, Bolton. Hamllson, Gignilliat, A. C. Ward, Womack, Ba ker. and Baggett. Those upholding the negative side were ,1. It. Roberts, Burleigh, Ingles, McDonald, Haiti, Petty, Ritchie, Park, Block, Smith, and Bond. n, ~ «jfjcs'iiHrasfSBS'tfwis " - “ - ~ 8gggHgfe;g!^8gBEaigfgigH^3agfgigBigrimfHwiBwiaMM GANDIES AND SODAS COSTA’S TOBACCOS AND )! s::: >::::: ss# s;SMOtSs a g-SOtbOfftfs a a KtgiatglgatWlgiama<U<l>tfgiR^fggtigftfft{ROOtaMMiaiaiaigg|gl PIPES Hooper Reelected Officer Georgia College Body Dr. W.
