Page Two THE RED AND BLACK Round Table to Elect Members At Early Date The Senior Round Table, honorary literary organization, will select their twelve sucessors from the members of the junior class soon, according to Ben Hardy. Bartlesville, president. Literary and scholastic merit will be considered in making the selection. The Senior Round Table is a chap ter of Sigma Upsilon, national lit erary fraternity, and is recognized wherever it has a chapter as an unusually high honor. Frat Basketball Championship Is Won by Chi Phi — The Chi Phis won the University fraternity basketball championship by winning the deciding game of the championship series from the Sigma Chi’s last Monday night, 31 to 24. The first game of the champion ship series was won by the Sigma Chi Quintet by two points; the sec ond game was taken by the Chi Phi’s S by the same margin, the final game was won by the biggest score of any,, the play in all the games being un-* usually fast. ''f Malon Courts and Joe Boland were the outstanding players for the Chi Phi's, while Buster Cook and Max Williams starred for the losers. Military Society Hold Initation Next Week-end The Scabbard and Blade, national honorary military fraternity, will initiate twenty new members next week at the regular spring initiation. Only students of the junior class who are members of the first advanced class of the R. O. T. C. are eligible. Two elections are held each year and the initiations are held during the predominate social week-end of the fall and spring. L company of the second regiment is the chapter of the fraternity located at the Uni versity. Luke Stancil. Tate, is the captain of the local company. The initiation of the Scabbard and Blade attracts a great deal of at tention because of the unique public stunts required of the neophytes. A model camp 1s pitched on the campus early in the morning and the sol dier's life is portrayed by each as the day goes by. The national convention of Scab bard and Blade will be held in Co lumbus, Ohio, April 26. A delegate from the University of Georgia will be selected and announced soon. Miss Sarah Morris spent the holi days in Columbus as the guest of Miss Dorothy Westbrook. He turned in a 75 for the course, shooting par j golf except on two holes. Summary: Playing on the East Lake course, the Tech golf team led by Captain j Watts Gunn defeated Georgia 10% to 7%. The contest between the two captains, Gunn for Tech and Billy Oliver for Georgia, was the feature of the match. Oliver was holding his own with the Walker cup player in every department of the game excepting the putting. Time after time they would both be on the green with an equal number of strokes, only to have Gunn win out as Oli ver’s putt lipped the cup. Gunn turned in a 73, Oliver a 78.
