The Chi Omegas Hold Banquet Saturday Mu Beta of Chi Omega will cele brate the founding of the fraternity with its annual founder’s day ban quet which will be held Saturday, April 14. at the cafeteria at Connor hall. Chi Omgea was founded April 5, 1895, but due to the Spring holidays on those dates. The band which will play for the coming dances will be announced as soon as the new contract is made, states Billy Young, president of the council. Festivities of the week-end will center about the Gteorgia-Alabama baseball series, one game being played Friday and another Saturday afternoon. Tea dances will follow the games on each afternoon, that Friday being given by the S. A. E. fraternity, and that on Saturday by the Pan-Hellenic council. Both dances will take place in Woodruff hall. Formal dances will occur on both Friday and Saturday nights. They both will be sponsored by the Pan- Hellenic council, though there is a possibility that the first will be given by the Freshman, Cavalier, and Sen ate clubs. The annual Athens performance of the Georgia Glee club will be another high light in the entertainment for the week end. This will occur Fri day night, 8:30 o’clock, at the Co lonial theatre. The Sphinx club will entertain at a dinner Friday evening, after which it will be host at a box party at the Glee club performance. The Phi Delta Phi (legal) fraternity will give a barbecue some time during the week-end. Other organizations of the Uni versity are planning to hold public initiations during Friday and Satur day. toast program will be “The House That Chi Omega Built,” with Miss Put Rogers, the president-elect of Mu Beta, as toastmistress. The toasts are: “The Builders"—Sara Morris. “The House”—Madaline Green. “The Rooms”.—Marie Eitle. "The Furnishings”—Evelyn Sher man. “The Guardians”—Katherine King- man, “Piggy” Bethel. Many of the alumnae are expected for the occasion. Students See Glee Club Play on Tour Among the University people at tending the Georgia Glee club per formance at Albany were Misses Louise Smith, Kay Earle, Marga- rethe Morris, Athens; Marjorie Den mark, Fitzgerald; Norma King, Blakaely; Georgia Rice, Commerce. The club house was decorated with j early spring flowers and foliage. During the afternoon punch and cakes were served by Misses Agnes Jarnigan and Sarah Erwin. Mrs. Jarnigan was assisted in en tertaining by Mrs. Decker and Miss Janet Jarnigan. The guests included the chapter members and members of other fra ternities. Miss Daniels to Report on Meet Elizabeth Daniels, Hawkinsville, the University of Georgia delegate to the athletic conference of Amer ican college women, will report on this conference at the monthly meet ing of the Woman’s Athletic associa tion which is to be held at Soule hall Tuesday, April 17, at seven p. m. A consideration of plans for the circus which the association is to give on April 21 will be taken up in the business meeting which will follow Miss Daniels' talk. All mem bers of this organization are urged to be present. were honored at many affairs while there. Miss Marion Reed of Cuthbert honored the house party at a lunch eon Friday morning. On Friday evening the paraty were the guests of Mrs. C. B. King for dinner at the new Albany hotel in Albany. They later attended the Glee club performance. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Sherman entertained the house party at Blakely. Mr. C. B. King was host at a fish supper at the lodge at Cordray’s mill, Monday evening. Those attending the house party were Misses Georgia Rice, Evelyn Sherman. Marion Sherman; Messrs. Roscoe Mitchell, Bill Warning. Mar vin Cox, and “Buddy” Hines. Phi Delta Phi to Be Host at y Cue The members of Phi Delta Phi, international legal fraternity, fwlll entertain at a barbecue Saturday, April 21, as one of the social events scheduled for the week-end of Spring Dances. The guests will include young ladies who will attend the va rious house parties given by the so cial fraternities. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McWhorter will chaperone. Luisa Espinel is Guest of Co-eds A reception in honor of Senorita Louisa Espinel, the University Wo man’s club, and the Athens Woman’s club will be given by the Pioneer club of the University of Georgia at Memorial hall Friday afternoon. Miss Espinel, Spanish singer of folk songs and a former member of the faculty of Lucy Cobb institute, will appear at Pound auditorium, State Teachers’ college tomorrow night. Miss Espinel comes here under the auspices of the Pioneer Gatenvood club of the University and the Glee club of the State Teachers’ college.
