Page Six THE RED AND BLACK Petrelets Take Single Game, 5-3, Fr om Bullp ups The Oglethorpe freshman baseball team defeated the Georgia freshman here Wednesday 5 to 3. The young Petrels piled up a lead In the first inning that the Bullpups could not overcome, scoring five runs on four hits. Three of the four hits did not get out of the infield, and the poor playing of the Georgia infield tells the story of their defeat. Georgia scored two in the fifth, when Brown, first up. walked; Owen struck out; Day got a base on balls: MoGahee singled to short right field, sending Brown to third. On a dou ble steal Brown came home and Mc- Gahee went to third. Sanford walk ed and McGahee came home when the pitcher threw the next one wild. Sullivan replaced Raymond on the mound for Oglethorpe. Georgia Defeats Tech in Deciding Lacrosse Match The Georgia lacrosse team won the conference championship Satur day by taking the rubber game from Georgia Tech, 12 to 8, on Sanford field. The two previous games were played in Atlanta. The Bulldogs took tile first and the Jackets the second. Georgia started things off with a rush and had the Tech defense com pletely bewildered for a time, lead ing the Flatmen at the half seven to three. The Jackets rallied several times in the final minutes of the contest but could never get in the tying goal. Captain Drew, Strickland, and Candler played well for the Red and Black, and Thrash, Cook and Ander son were the Tech stars.
