BULLDOGS JOURNEY
TO COLUMBUS TO
MEET PLAINSMEN
With probably the easiest game re
maining on the schedule to be play
ed tbe Georgia team Journeys to Co
lumbus next week for the annual
conflict with the Auburn Plainsmen.
Auburn has the largest string of con
secutive losses hung up hy a Con
ference team since the beginning of
that association and In their conflict
with the Bulldogs they have every
thing to win and nothing to lose.
The Auburn game Is the only soft
spot remaining In the Georgia
schedule and It Is possible that a
good many of the varsity players
will he saved for future conflicts.
The Auburn game draws more stu
dents than any other game except
the Tech game and a large number
of students will probably go to Co
lumbus to see the game.

By

Vanderbilt In their last two starts.
An Injury Jinx has settled down on

several weeks; Frlsble has a bad
arm; McCrary and Herndon were

habit of reversing form from day to
day, and if they are right Saturday

I wo, perhaps three, touchdowns.
Only the game itself will tell what

do with the making of the varsity.
Incidentally, they did a lot to the

again with passes. Chick Shiver and

Trip to Florida
The Bullpups left Athens Thurs
day for a game In Jacksonville, Fri
day with the Baby Gators of Florida.
Coach Gene Smith has been working
his men diligently for the past two
weeks in preparation for the Florida
game and although, the little Gators
have one of the best freshman teams
In the Conference it is expected that
the Georgia rats will turn in a win.
One of the largest squads ever to
make a freshman football trip was
taken and this supply of reserves
augments the Bullpups chances. The
team will return to Athens in time
to see the varsity take on Tulane.

The Georgia Bulldogs won their
second triumph of the season over
Furman last Friday, 7 to 0. The
Bulldogs were given a tough fight
by the Hurricane and were fortunate
in winning.
The only score of the game came
in the last minute of the first half
when Buster Cook received a pass
from Bobby Hooks and carried it
across the goal line.
The Red and Black players were
unable to make their plays go and
while they held the Purple on run
ning plays their pass defense was In
effective. Several times passes
brought the ball close to the Geor
gia goal but each time the attack of
Furman was repelled.
The main trouble with the Bull
dog offense seemed to be their block
ing: it looked as if none of the play-
j ers were leaving their feet and if
j the ball-carrier got beyond the line
I of scrimmage he was quickly brought
down by the Furman secondary.
Furman Fighters
The Furman team was composed
! OOP of a bunch of fighters and they gave
the Bulldogs a real tussle.
Up until last year the Georgia
team lost three or four games an
nually and the showing made last
