Another Student's Voice
To the Editor:
Why don't some of the OTH
ER students voice their opi
nions if they aren't content
with the radical movements
now taking place on the cam
pus of the University of Geor
gia? Why. I ll tell you why
I am sure that the majority
of the students are here prima
rily for an education, not for
the purpose of defying rules,
opposing regulations, or spend
ing their time in demonstra
tions I am also confident that
others share my opinion in that
if these so-called students are
so discontent with the Universi
ty and its system of governing
the actions of the students en
j rolled here, why are they here
j in the first place.
If they want to obtain an ed
ucation and develop into ma
tune individuals on which out
future societies are going to de
pend. then let them exemplify
this in their participation in
student activities rather than
participating in some kind of
off-the-wall demonstration

It would be wise for all those
students who are being so un
mercifully deprived, to sit
down and evaluate themselves,
their lives and their goals in
life They should also stop and
realize the sacrifices which
have been made in order that
they might obtain a college ed
ucation.

Although I'm ashamed to be

young ladies of the University
be known and respected for
their lady like attributes rather
than their abilities to drink or
their abilities to live as some
would have them live.

I'm not against change. I'm
all for change if that change is

the dissension of some minority

Possibly the Coeds at the

For Retirement
The University's faculty retire
ment and benefits program is
praiseworthy with regard to ben-j
efiLs for senior faculty members,
according to Dr Mark Ingraham,
dean of the College of Arts and
Sciences at the University of
Wisconsin.
Dr Ingraham said however
that there are inadequacies in
the University program, most no
tably with regard to benefits for
junior faculty members in the
system

other publicity outlets
The company will have repre-

throughout the country. Wax ex

making student government a
more vital and effective force.
I. Student Government
• We fully endorse the
amendments offered to the Stu
dent Government Constitution
and urge all students to vote
for these amendments
• We encourage full develop

student judiciary.
• The vice president of the
student body needs more defi
nite responsibilities in his rela
tionships to the students We
therefore propose making the
vice president an ambassador
to students, and as such he
would stand ready at any time
to handle questions, give ad
vice, and answer grievances
from any students.

We feel, however, with all
due respect to the University
and concurrent with the establ
ished system of rules at UGA,
the students should tie given
a milk and cookie period in the
morning and recess in the after
noon In addition we feel that
the University is practically ob
ligated to install jungle-gyms
and slides in all grassy areas
on campus and sand boxes at

We feel certain that the ad
ministration will appreciate our
support and will give immedi

which will supplement their
