Year in Review 2006
The year began on a tragic note when
first-year University student Lewis
Fish died of drug-related causes in his
Russell Hall dorm room. PAGE 2A
University President Michael Adams
and his administration passed a number
of alcohol-related policy changes that
spring. Among them were changes to
gameday tailgating policies. PAGE 6A
Later that semester, a University
junior and “ninja,” Jeremiah Ransom,
would make national headlines after
being tackled on campus by an ATF
agent. He still hasn’t received an apolo
gy. PAGE 4A
In the sports world, coach Jack
Bauerle and his women’s swimming
and diving team came painfully close to
capturing the national championship.

But coach Suzanne Yoculan’s
beloved Gym Dogs took their second
consecutive national title in April.

unexpected trip to Omaha for the
