The following incidents were taken from Athens- Clarke County and University Police reports: Feb. 22 ► A roommate fight over a power bill ended with one roommate, a female University student, being arrested by ACC Police and charged with simple battery. Elyse McGregor told police she was arguing with her roommate about a power bill and became very angry, yelling and slamming doors. The roommate told police their other roommate stepped between them and McGregor struck the left side of her face. McGregor admitted to police she did hit her room mate. An apartment manager was present when the police took the report. After receiving a com plaint of marijuana on the third floor of an East Campus Village residence hall, police investigated and arrested Brandon Adam Grant and Michael Ogier Hudson and charged them each with a minor count oi possession of mari juana. Grant also was charged with a felony count of intent to distribute marijuana. Feb. 23 ► ACC Police arrested a University cook and charged him with possession of a schedule I drug. Police stopped Stacey Terrence Watkins as he was walking down Knottingham Drive at 11:18 p.m. and ran his license. When the officer searched Watkins, he found a piece of paper balled up in his right sock. Inside the paper was a green pill that tested positive for Ecstasy. Jason Eller told police he drove the golf cart to World of Wings on South Milledge Avenue at 9 p.m. and parked it on the side walk because the parking lot was full. He told police he took the keys with him, but when he left the restaurant, the golf cart was not there. It was not towed. Feb. 26 ► A male University student reported a burglary in progress to ACC Police. Peter Werhoef woke up at about 3:14 a m. and opened his bedroom window because his room was hot. When he did, he told police he saw a male dressed all in black try the doorknob to two adjacent apartments and then enter a third apart ment he found unlocked. Werhoef saw the male exit the apartment about 45 sec onds later and then leave the gram assistant, Valerie Lake. "Over $1 million in scholar ships have been awarded since the foundation began in 1976." Lake also said the founda tion has a large support base from Athens, including interns from the University. No cars in the parking lot had been entered, either. ► A female University stu dent reported to University Police her purse and its con tents, valued at $854, were stolen. The female left her $250 Coach purse in a bench out side the Ramsey Center weight room at 5:25 p.m. When she returned at 5:30 p.m., the purse was gone. She also had her S2OO Apple iPod nano, S2OO Sony CyberShot digital camera, S2OO leather Louis Vuitton wallet and credit cards inside the purse.
