THE BULLETIN OF THE CATHOLIC LAYMEN’S ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA
JANUARY 29, 1938
Parish Buildings at Wilson, N. C., Fr. Dolan, Pastor
MSGR. SHEEN will give the Foer-
ster Lecture on the Immortality of
the Soul at the University of Cali
fornia January 29 at Berkeley, Cal.
Tile Rev. Hugh Dolan is now pas
tor of the parish at Wilson, which
includes not only St. Theresa’s
Church there, but a wide mission
field, including such places as St.
Elizabeth's Farmville, and its sub
stantial church, and mission stations
like Stantonsburg. Kenley, Bailey
Elm City, Middlesex, Pine Tops, Sar
atoga, Lucama, Wilbanks and Sims.
An enumeration of these mission sta
tions, covering a wide area with Wil
son as the center, indicates that the
days of the pioneers are not yet over
in North Carolina, but the progress
which has been made is a founda
tion for great hope for the future.
Father Dolan came to the Diocese of
Raleigh after his ordination in 1934
when he finished his course in theo
logy at Mt. St. Mary's Seminary,
Maryland, the alma mater also of
Bishop Hafey, and his zeal and abil
ity so commended him to the Bishop
that he was soon placed in charge of
the Wilson missions, where he has
labored so effectively since.
