Tour of Historic Houses of Worship
The first Tour of Historic Houses of Worship in Savannah will take place
on December 30. Travel through the Historic and Victorian Districts to visit
thirteen churches and one synagogue from Bay Street to 38th Street, between
Montgomery and Abercom Streets. Each will open its doors between 11:00
a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (Exceptions: The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist will be
open between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and Congregation Mickve Israel
between 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.). Where you begin or end the trip is your
decision. While these tours are free to the public, each will graciously accept
donations to be given to a charity.

Vocation Discernment Retreat
The Diocese of Savannah Vocation Office is sponsoring a Vocation Discern
ment Retreat for single men from January 4-7, 2001 at Camp John Hope,
Fort Valley. Cost is $50.00, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay.

Jubilee Year Closing Mass
The solemn closing Mass for the Jubilee Year 2000 will be celebrated on
January 7,2001, the Feast of the Epiphany, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of
Saint John the Baptist in Savannah. All Catholics of the Savannah Deanery are
invited and encouraged to attend this special liturgy which will mark the end
of this great Jubilee Year of grace.
Saint Valentine’s Day Dance
Catholic Social Services, Augusta, will be sponsoring a Saint Valentine’s
Day Dance on February 8, 2001 at the Bell Auditorium in Augusta, featuring
the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Ticket information as well as time will be
