In Red China LONDON (NC) -Christianity is now almost non-existent in China, Sir Donald Hopson, former British charge d’affaires in Peking, said in a special interview with the Catholic Herald, national British weekly. He said that, since the closing of the only convent in Peking in 1966, the Chinese authorities have pursued a policy of active suppression of all religious worship. Sir Donald, a Catholic, returned to England recently, after being detained in Peking following the sacking of the British mission in Peking by Red Guards almost a year ago. “Religious practice has certainly stopped in public,” he said. “Only the last vestiges of religious life still exist, certainly in Peking and one assumes in the rest of China too.” A-W-A-Y VEGO Catholic Sec., 12 grave lot. beautiful monument unengraved, sacrifice, 875-5371 PIANO INSTRUCTION IN YOUR HOME ANYONE CAN LEARN TO PLAY USING MY METHOD.
