Marla qualified for the national contest as first place win ner in the Georgia competition for grades second through sixth. She chose “New Life Is A Present From God” as the theme of her poster. It featured a butterfly made out of baby feet in front of a rainbow with a gift drifting down by parachute. She used her brother, Chad, 3, by standing him on a poster board and tracing his feet to create the butterfly wings. The contest and the activities of Pro-Life Week touched her deeply and made her realize more fully that life is truly a gift from God. Marla, daughter of Marlin and Kathy Teat of Rome, is ac tive in Brownie Troop 800 and takes ballet, tap and jazz lessons. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E.
