"Guys and Dolls" Musical Staged AROUND THE ARCHDIOCESE AIDS Workshop Dates Set The Drama Department of St. Pius X High School caps off its sixth year of successful productions with a presentation of Frank Loesser’s Broadway classic. “Guys and Dolls,” April 23-26 at the Frania T. Lee Center for Performing Arts. “Guys and Dolls” is the springtime showcase for Pius student talents—filled with romance, showtunes and unforgettable char acters. A cast of 45 drama students, student athletes and alumni will perform Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with 1:30 and 7:30 performances on Sun day. April 26. The musical director for “Guys and Dolls” is Jay Hinson, assisted by Bar bara Exline, director of the school’s music depart ment. Tickets for all perfor mances must be purchased in advance from Ms. Carolyn Chandler, St. Pius director of media services. Mail orders should be ac companied by check made out to St. Pius X High School-Drama. Tickets ordered by mail will be held at the door for all per formances. Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $3 for students. $2 for senior citizens and $2.50 for everyone at the April 26 Sunday matinee perfor mance. Dinner Auction St. John Neumann Regional Catholic School will sponsor its first annual dinner auction at the Mar riott, Gwinnett Place, 1-85 and Pleasant Hill Rd., Duluth, May 3, beginning at 4p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 and is $20 per person. Advanced reservations are desired. Over 150 items will be auctioned including babysitting for a week-end, installed flooring, hand made quilt, airline tickets, VCR. and getaway week ends. The AIDS Task Force of the Christian Council of Metropolitan Atlanta will hold four workshops on AIDS prevention and ministry to people with AIDS and those close to them. The workshops’ purpose is to prepare churches to educate their members in prevention of the disease’s spread, to provide medical ly correct information and to minister with love and effectiveness to those who have AIDS, to those ex posed to the virus and to their loved ones. The workshops are scheduled to take place at four sites: on April 28, 7-10 p.m. at Trinity Presby terian Church, Atlanta; on April 30, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville; on May 21, 7-9 p.m. at Ben Hill United Methodist Church, Atlanta, and on May 23, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Glenn Memorial United Metho dist Church, Atlanta. Ecumenical Women To Share Evening A discussion of the Covenant between Roman Catholics and Lutherans will highlight the ecumenical “Evening of Understanding” on Thursday, April 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Holy Family parish center, 3401 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta. The Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women and the Lutheran Women’s Groups, sponsors of the pro gram, invite lay and clergy of the two denominations to at tend. Taking part in the discussion at the “Evening of Understanding” will be Bishop Wolber, the Rev. Dr. Charles A. Thompson of the Lutheran Church in America, and Father Robert Dalton, of the Glenmary Research Center in Atlanta. The program will include supper at 6:30 p.m., small group sharing and a panel, question and answer session. Cost of the supper is $4.50.
