St. Pius X Plans Arts Festival Students and arts faculty at St. Pius X High School will present performances of drama, music, dance and other visual arts dur ing the school’s annual Fall Arts Festival, Nov. 14 and 15. Saturday’s performanc es will begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday’s will begin at 2 p.m at the Lee Performing Arts Center, 2674 Johnson Road, near I 85 and Shallowford Road. Admis sion is free. Donations will help the school expand its arts program. “Good things are hap pening on the arts scene at St. Pius,” said principal, Father Terry Young. “Our arts staff works with a cou ple hundred talented teens to put together perfor mances that are so far ad vanced over what one might expect of such young people.” This year’s Festival will include a one-act play, “The Comedian,” about St. Genesius, the patron saint of actors. The production will be produced by Bonnie Spark, drama director at St. Pius. Twenty-two St. Pius dancers will perform an ex cerpt from the Broadway musical, “Chorus Line.’’ under the direction of dance the performances will in clude 80 St. Pius students’ paintings, stained-glass displays and drawings.
