The FATHER ROBERT E. DYER MEMORIAL FUND
has been established at St. Thomas the Apostle in Smyrna.

FIVE FOR FOOD, the program that gives food to
the poor through the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, is
in need of contributions, according to Marguerite and
John Oberg who began the program in February,
1982. Contributors are asked to give $5 monthly, $60
yearly or whatever they can afford. Gifts may be sent
to Five for Food, St. Vincent de Paul Society, P.O.
Box 10494, Atlanta, 30310. Any questions about the
program will be answered by the Obergs at 233-3525.
Shrine of the Immaculate Conception will hold a FLEA
MARKET AND CAKE SALE, Thurs. and Fri., Nov. 19-20
from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. and Sun. morning, Nov. 22 after the

AN AFTERNOON WITH ROVER is a chance for
volunteers to share their pets with the elderly. Volunteers
are needed to bring their pets to spend about two hours a

The Sunday liturgy at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 22 at the Cathedral
of Christ the King will include special music by the choir
with the ATLANTA SYMPHONY BRASS in honor of the

The Cobb/Marietta Council of the Georgia Association for
Children and Adults with LEARNING DISABILITIES is a
support group for parents and professionals involved with
persons having learning disabilities. The group meets the
third Tuesday of each month at the First United Methodist
Church of Marietta, corner of Powder Springs Road and

speak on “Dad’s Involvement Does Make a Difference ’’

Third Order of Mary, will meet Sun., Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. in St.
Anthony’s Church, at the corner of Gordon and Ashby
Streets in southwest Atlanta. Novice instruction will be
given in the rectory preceding the general meeting. Anyone

THE STREET PEOPLE’S SHOWBOAT will return to Ho
ly Cross Church for two performances on Friday and Satur
day, Nov. 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. The annual variety show’s pro
ceeds help the Friends of St. Martin de Porres provide food,
clothing and shelter for homeless families and individuals
throughout the year. Tickets will be sold at the door. For

help the school expand its
arts program.

Father Terry Young. “Our
arts staff works with a cou
ple hundred talented teens
to put together perfor
mances that are so far ad
vanced over what one
might expect of such young
people.”
This year’s Festival will
include a one-act play,
“The Comedian,” about St.
Genesius, the patron saint
of actors. The production
will be produced by Bonnie
Spark, drama director at
St. Pius.
Twenty-two St. Pius
dancers will perform an ex
cerpt from the Broadway
musical, “Chorus Line.’’
under the direction of dance

paintings, stained-glass
displays and drawings.
