The only Reagan supporter
interviewed was Vince Smith. “I
thought that Carter did ok but
not well enough. I feel that
Reagan will do a better job
especially on the National
Defense policy. If Reagan was
president I would feel safer.
While the majority of the
people were planning on voting
for President Jimmy Carter they
did not exactly agree with his
stand not to debate with John
Anderson. Greg Shorte voiced
the consenting opinion by
stating, “It’s not fair, everyone
should get a chance.”

When asked whether the close
cut was a fadish hairstyle, head
barber of Hair Creations Barber
Salon, Hasson Williams, stated,
“The short haircut is stylish,
styles from the past are fadish,
everytime one of the fadish
hairstyles go out of style,
everyone goes back to the close
haircut.”
Mr. Williams believes that the
black women has encouraged
her mate to wear the shorter cut,
because it distinguishes the man
from the woman, unlike the afro
and other popular black
"Black men, young and old,
students and professionals are
conforming to the close hair
cut,” stated Dr. Rowland, hair
stylist at Hair Creations Barber
Salon.
Many barbers believe this
change in length is due to the
50’s style of dress that has
entered this year's fashion scene.
“It is the only type of hair style
that will compliment this type of
dress is the close cut,” related
Rowland.
Other hair experts feel the
sudden interest in short hair is
due to the large flow of blacks in
the ocrporate world. The short
haircut has a conservative,
professional look.
