SAVANNAH, GA.
Mr. Louis Untermeyer, the noted
poet, lectured March 17th on “A Cri
tic’s Half Holiday,” the most charm
ing and interesting of his lectures.
The William Stein troup presented
“The Streets of New York” at the
Alliance which proved very success
ful and enjoyable.
The Woman’s Club produced their
eighth annual entertainment March
20th. The production was a vaude
ville with a minstrelette as the fea
ture number and with other acts that
could easily feature the average show.
In spite of the heaviest schedule in
their history, the seniors won half
their basket-ball teams and some of
the games they lost could easily have
been won with the least bit of luck.
The Intermediates have won glory for
themselves and the Alliance by run
ning through their third year without
a defeat, hanging up forty straight
victories to their credit.
The Senior Social Club was social
from the very start. The club gave
a card party for members and friends,
the funds going to the Young Judea
convention fund.
While formal announcement has not
been made by the Board of Directors
as to dates and goal, it is a foregone
conclusion that the Alliance will in
the almost immediate future conduct
a drive to wipe out its large deficit,
accumulated through inadequate funds
from the Chest for three years
straight. The money must be raised
or it will be totally impossible to keep
the Alliance open.
The April Fool Dance to be given
by the Four Square Club is shaping
nicely and something new in the way
of novelty dances is promised to the
members.

York City for the projected reservoir
along the Delaware River.
The purchase is now subject to ap

Officials of the road said that Mr. Ro
soff is the sole purchaser. If he buys
the line alone, approval by the Public
Service Commission will be obviated.
