Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gordon of
Chattanooga, Tenn., announce the
birth of a daughter. Mr. Gordon was
a former resident of this city.
Recent visitors to the city includ
ed Mr. Harold Hirsch, Jr., who is
spending the spring vacation with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hirsch,
Sr.
Mr. Mannye Bermon of Birming
ham, Ala., was the guest of his par
ents.
The friends of Miss Belle Clein
will be pleased to learn that she has
recovered from a recent attach of
laryngitis.
Mrs. Oscar Elsas has returned from
Atlantic City.
Mrs. Lawrence Steinheimer and
daughter, Miss Henrietta, of Savan
nah, spent the week-end in the city,
the guests of Mr. D. Steinheimer and
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bauer.
Mr. Julius Visanska, of Charleston,
S. C., spent several days in the city.
Mrs. J. Bokritzky and Miss Perle
Bokritzky spent the week end in
Chattanooga, Tenn., the guests of
Mrs. A. Solomon.
Mrs. Floyd Brandeis has returned
from a trip East including New York
and New Jersey.
WEIL-BIRSCH WEDDING PLANS
ARE OF WIDE SOCIAL INTEREST
Birmingham, Ala., March 25. The
marriage of Miss Julia Weil, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Lee B. Weil, to Mor
ris Hirsch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Monte
L. Hirsch, of Atlanta, will be among
the important events of April, the
wedding date being set for Thursday,
April 4. The ceremony will take
place at the Tutwiler hotel at 7:30
o’clock in the evening, with Dr. Mor
ris Neufield reading the nuptial
service.
Miss Weil will be given in marriage
by her father and is to be attended
by a group of pretty young belles.
Miss Ailene Freitag, of Atlanta, will
be maid of honor and Mrs. Leonard
Haas, sister of the groom-elect, also
of Atlanta, is to be matron. The
bridesmaids are to include Miss Peggy
Hirsch, of Atlanta; Miss Melanie
Dennery and Miss Alice Wilzin, of
New Orleans, and Miss Hattie Hazel
Wolff, of Birmingham.
Sidney Smith, of Atlanta, will serve
Mr. Hirsch as best man, and the
groomsmen are to be Stanley Erd-
reich, Bennet Rich, Herbert Hafter
and Walter Levy, of Birmingham;
Max Nussbaum, Henry Hirsch, Leon
ard Haas, of Atlanta, and Julius
Schloss, of Baltimore.
A number of pre-nuptial courtesies
are being given for this popular bride-
elect. Mrs. Abe Rich entertained 12
guests in compliment to Miss Weil
Saturday, when she gave a bridge
party at her home and other functions
are scheduled for the present week.
Beginning Monday, April 1, Mrs.
Marc Linx and Mrs. Mena Sterne will
entertain Miss Weil at the initial
number in a series of parties. Mrs.
Leo Rich, Mrs. Sidney Hart and Mrs.
V. Hugo Marx are arranging a din
ner party for Miss Weil Monday eve
ning, April 1.
Mrs. Leopold Loeb and Mrs. Dave
Meyer are entertaining for the bride-
elect Tuesday, giving a luncheon.
Tuesday evening. Mrs. Harold Leh
man and Mrs. Leonard Wertheimer
are honoring Miss Weil a party. A
breakfact party, scheduled for Wed
nesday morning, April 3, will be giv
en by Mrs. Plugene Wolff. Mrs. Mer
lin Herzfield and Mrs. Fannie Herz-
field, honoring Miss Weil and Mr.
Hirsch.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee B. Weil, parents
of the bride-to-be, will entertain at
Hillcrest Country Club on the evening
of Wednesday, April 3, including
members of the bridal party and out-
of-town guests for the wedding in the
guest list.
Mrs. Louis Wellhouse, Mrs. Lil
lian Jacobs, Mrs. Chas. Adler and
Miss Evelyn Adler spent a few days
in Macon, Ga.
Mrs. James Levy, of Paducah, Ky.,
is visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Frank-
el.
Mrs. W. W. Visanska and Miss
Morette Visanska are spending the
latter’s Easter holidays in New York,
Philadelphia and Baltimore.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Charles Newman
are charming acquisitions to Atlanta
social life, having moved from Mont
gomery. Mrs. Newman was Miss
Florence Levi, of Dallas, Texas a
cousin of Mrs. Edwin Haas.
The Sigma Theta Pi Sorority g ave
an enjoyable script dance at the Stan
dard Club on March 28th. College
boys and girls and many out-of-town
guests attended.
The Phi Epsilon Pi Fraternity will
give a baby dance at the Standard
Club March 30th.
Rabbi and Mrs. Tobias Geffen and
family have moved to their new home,
593 Washington Street, N.W.
Mrs. Henry Rosenbaum is visiting
her parents in Fort Myers, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Davis, Jr. of
Cincinnati are the parents of a son
Allen 111, born March 9th. Mrs.
Davis was formerly Miss Rose Ger-
shon of Atlanta.
Mrs. H. I. Rice and daughters, Anna
and Cecil returned from New York
where they attended the Idursky-Roth
wedding.
The Messrs. Ben Strauss and Bill
Elias were hosts at a dance at the
home of Mr. Strauss on North Ave.
The chaperones for the evening in

Mrs. L. H. Elias, Mrs. B. J. Apple,
Dr. and Mrs. S. L. Davis and Mrs.
Morris Bernard. Among the members
