Leibler-Lubow Wedding Brilliant
Affair of the Season
ORANGEBURG. S. C.
An outstanding event, of gorgeous
jeauty and widespread interest, was
ho wedding of Miss Martha Lubow,
laughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Lu-
)ow to Theadore Leibler of Brooklyn,
S’ V., which was solemnized on Tues
day at high noon at the Eutaw Hotel.
The spacious dining room had been
lost effectively and artistically de
corated with stately palms as a back
ground for colorful gladioli, roses, car-
mtions and sweet peas. In the win
dows were potted Easter lilies and
f e ms and opposite the door an im
provised altar of white lattice en
twined with Southern smilax inter
laced with pink carnations and roses,
formed a canopy under which the vows
were spoken.
Or. either side of the altar were tall
pedestal baskets overflowing with
pink gladioli and Easter lilies while
a solid bank of potted Easter lilies
firmed the background inside.
Poised directly over the center of
the altar was a white dove which held
|n its bill a miniature brides’ bouquet.
Previous to the ceremony a program
>f nuptial music was given by Mrs.
Rudolph Bozard, soloist, Theo Wolfe,
violinist, Mrs. .1. B. McMichael and
8. .1. Cogburn pianist.
Mrs. Bozard sang, “I Love You
Yuly” and “I Crave My Heart to You,”
with Mrs. McMichael as accompanist,
llessrs. Wolfe and Cogburn played
the ‘‘Bridal Chorus” from Lohengrin
^s the processional.
First to enter were the ushers, Sam
Bimowitz, of Augusta, Ga., and Harold
Babin of Brooklyn, N. Y., who were
followed by the mother of the bride
matron of honor. Mrs. Lubow wore

•tte, trimmed with cream lace ami
^ream-colored hat. Her flowers were
i corsage of Rapture roses and Val
ov lilies.

>f the bride, came next wearing a
ively gown of orchid georgette, with
orchid picture hat and carrying an
arm bouquet of Briarcliff roses.
The bride entered with her father
by whom she was given in marriage
and was met at the altar by her bride
groom and his best man, Ned II.
Smukler, of Brooklyn, N. Y.
Rabbi Karesh of Columbia, per
formed the impressive ceremony.
The beauty of the bride was en
hanced by an exquisite gown of rose
beige georgette with shoes and close
fitting imported hat of rose beige
and blond. Her flowers were a bri
dal bouquet of brides roses showered
with Valley lilies.
Following the marriage an infor
mal reception was held and was serv
ed.
Vases of pink rosebuds and sweet
peas centered the tables and the guests
places were marked by rose baskets
of mints.
Centering the table at which the
bridal party were seated, was a frost
ed brides’ cake with tiny bride and
groom. Covers w’ere laid for 150
guests.
Following the luncheon Mr. and Mrs.
I^eibler left for Havana.
The bride is the eldest daughter of
Nathan Lubow, prominent merchant
of this city, and Mrs. Lubow\ She was
born in New York city, but has been
reared and attended the public schools
here. After her graduation she at
tended Converse College and studied
in New York for a year.
Mrs. Leibler is also an accomplish
ed musician.
Mr. Leibler, who is from Brooklyn,
N. Y. attended the University of Vir
ginia for two years with one year
at Fordham Law College, New York,
and will continue to study law at the
University of South Carolina.
The following out of town guests
attended this brilliant affair: Mrs.

Louise Simowitz and Mr. Sam Simo
witz, Augusta; Miss Janet Bluestein,
