JEWISH CHILDREN MOST GIFT
ED, SURVEY SHOWS
Palto, Alto (J. T. A.)—There are
slightly more gifted boys than girls,
and of the national groups Jews are
far in the head when it comes to tal
ent, it is stated by I)r. Lewis M. Ter-
man of Stanford, who is completing a
study of 1,000 gifted children, which
will be volume Ill of the series “Men
tal and Physical Traits of a Thousand
(lifted Children.” Dr. Terman has a
wide reputation for his work in this
field.
The group of specially talented
young people he began studying in
1921 is maintaining its expectations,
Dr. Terman reports, but he adds:
“Not all of the children have lived
up to their ability, but success de
pends on so much more than ability.”
To come within the category
"gifted” the child must have an intel
ligence quotient of 130 or higher.
