“Mansions of Philosophy" have gained
world fame.
These young Jewish women of At

soring this lecture, from a civic, lit
erary and intellectual standpoint.
They will no doubt receive the co-op
eration from all the Jewish and non-
Jewish organizations, and from those
interested in the work of Dr. Durant.
Dr. Durant’s lecture will be given
at the Atlanta Theatre and will be
introduced by Col. Paxon, who is one
of the outstanding literary figures in
Atlanta.

HON. SLATON SPEAKS ON
PEACE AT STANDARD CLUB
The Hon. John M. Slaton spoke re
cently on “Peace” at the joint meet
ing of the Temple Sisterhood and the
Council of Jewish W omen. Rabbi Da
vid Marx delivered the invocation
after which Mr. Solon Drukenmiller
sang “The Star Spangled Banner,”
followed by two other beautiful vocal
numbers.
Mr. Slaton briefly discussed the
practical as well as theoretical aspect
of avoiding war. stressing the abso
lute necessity for abolition of war
and encouragement of friendship
among nations. He emphasized that
first we must have the ideal of peace
and then convert our ideal into actu
ality. Mr. Slaton cited a number of
disputes settled amiably within re
cent years to illustrate his optimism
as to the practicability of peace, and
explained through the words of poets
and prophets the high essentials and
ideal of peace which is surely attain
able.
