er location. Most of the members of
the Congregation had moved over in
to Washington Street and finally the
Congregation, in order to insure its
future existence was compelled to seek
i a change of location. Through the un
tiring efforts of Mr. Sidney Zimmer
man, President of the Congregation,
and its Vice-President, Mr. Jake
Minsk, this location was finally se-
I cured and the work of building the
Beth-Hamidrash was begun. A build
ing committee was formed with Mr.
R. Sicro, as Chairman. This committee
consisted of Simon Zimmerman, Vice-
Chairman, L. Franklin, Secretary, and
Jake Zimmerman, Treasurer. The cam
paign for funds was placed in the
hands of Rabbi Geffen. Under his
charge was placed the Finance Com
mittee with Messrs. I. Melnick, Chair
man, and M. Rosenberg, S. H. Gold
stein, and H. Hoffman, Vice-Chairmen.
It was through the efforts of these un
tiring workers that the Beth-Hami-
| drash was completed and the initial
: work on the main auditorium of the
I Synagogue was begun.

The gallery, in this Synagogue, encirc

a very beautiful and unique fashion.
This seating arrangement has been
used by some of the strictly Ortho

New > ork City. The beauty of the in-
. terior has been greatly enhanced by
the Oron Kodesh (Holy Ark) which
| was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Tobias
j Borochoff. Its classic lines lend dig

Plans for the Congregation were
drawn by the very able and renowned

declared that the Synagogue is one of
