RABBI MORDECAI SCHUCHATO-
WITZ, of New York, was appointed by
the President of the Union of Ortho
dox Jewish Congregations of America
as Chairman of the High School Com
mittee to supervise the activities of
the Habonim (The Interscholastic
League of Jewish Youth) which was
organized by the Union.
EMIL LUDWIG, well-known biogra
pher, arrived in Jerusalem. He will
make a tour of the Jewish settlements.
JOSEPH H. LOWENSTEIN, a
late trustee of Congregation Beth
Elohim, of Brooklyn, left a bequest of
$5,000 for the Union of American He
brew Congregations.
