The splendid growth of Food Advertising linage in The Atlanta Eve
ning Georgian reflects the recognition by this important classification of adver
tisers of the fact that The Georgian reaches an important portion of the
Atlanta market not reached by any other newspaper.
In September 19.243 lines of local food advertising appeared in The
Evening Georgian. In October the figure jumped to 40.577 lines, which came
about largely by an increase of space used by the largest food advertisers, who
had carefully studied the Atlanta market and stated what had been learned in
the words of increased space in The Georgian.
In November the figure increased to 44.079. The figures for these three
consecutive months cover a period when a definite swing to The Georgian
came about on the part of large users of advertising space. The figures continue
to rise for December.
Food advertising represents one of the most important classifications.
The Georgian, covering more than half the city of Atlanta every day. assures
advertising coverage of this half of the city which cannot otherwise be reached
with an advertising message.
The Georgian is the progressive newspaper of Atlanta. Its progressiveness
is shown by the fact that it publishes ( every Friday ) the only Food Section
of the South: the most complete financial section in the city: the most up-to-
date automobile section: a boy scout feature page: aviation feature page: only
Geneological Department in the South: Parent-Teachers pages: and many
other clear-cut. metropolitan features, so that The Georgian-American has a
strong and wholesome appeal to every member of the familv.
