Mr. Phillips is a graduate of Marist i "liege, of Georgia Military Academy, d the University of Pennsylvania. He is the only son of the late Mr. Benjamin Z. Phillips and Mrs. Nettie Elsas Phillips. His only sister is Mrs. Frederick Gordon Barnett, of New York. Mr. Jacob Elsas, the grand father of Mr. Phillips, is a leading citizen of Atlanta and is prominently identified with philanthropic move ments of Atlanta, other members of his family being among the leaders in philanthropic and cultural circles in Atlanta and the south. Mrs. Benjamin Z. Phillips was hos tess at a dinner party for the popular couple at her home in Ponce de Leon Avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Elsas were hosts at a dinner party Friday evening at their home on Oakdale Road. Guests included Miss Mather, Mr. Phillips, Miss Helen Elsas, Miss Peggy Hirsch, Miss Richard Rich, Mrs. Oscar Strauss Mr. and Mrs. Norman Elsas, Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Schoen, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hirsch and Mr. and Mrs. Ixiuis Elsas. Miss Dinah Rausin Feted Miss Billie Levin entertained in honor of her charming guest, Miss Dinah Rausin, of Chattanooga, at a bridge on Saturday, November doth. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion and the color scheme of green and white being carried out. Miss Rausin was presented with a beautiful silver compact and Miss Mary Frank, also of Chattanooga, was the recipient of a beautiful leather desk novelty. Among those invited to meet Miss Rausin were Mrs. Floyd Brandeis, Mrs. Abe Spielberg, Mrs. Sol Levin, Misses Mary Frank, Char lotte Weinkle, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Rae Winer, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Helen Seff, Rose Seff, Sara Gershon, Evelyn Gershon, Polly Gershon, Rae Rosenberg and many others. Miss Billy Berman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Berman of 572 Park Drive, is home from the University of Alabama for the holidays. With her as guests are Miss Gene Hoffson of Hartford, Conn., and Miss Helena Henes of New York. Among the guests present were Mrs. L. J. Levitas, president of Sen ior Hadassah, Miss Rae Rosenberg, president of Junior Hadassah, the or ganization sponsoring Dr. Durant’s visit to this city, and friends of Dr. Durant and the hostesses. Mrs. B. M. Brodie and Mrs. J. Yam- polsky assisted Mrs. Kuniansky in entertaining. During the evening Dr. Durant read the poem “Salut Au Monde” from Walt Whitman’s “Leaves of Grass.” Of cordial interest throughout the east and south, centers in the engage ment and wedding announcement of Miss Leah Irene Wengrow and Mr. Leonard S. Brenner to be solemnized in February. The bride-elect is a tall titian type and is greatly admired by a host of friends. Miss Wengrow spent her early childhood in Brunswick, Ga., where she attended Glynn Academy, later finishing her education in school in Atlanta. Miss Wengrow is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Wengrow of this city. Her brothers are Isaac M. Wen grow, a prominent attorney of Atlan ta; Mr. Harry Wengrow, Mr. Jack Wengrow and Mr. Ben Wengrow, all of this city. The bridegroom is the only son of Mrs. Benj. Brenner, and the late Mr. Benj. Brenner. His father, before his death, was one of the outstanding business men of this section and Phila delphia. Mr. Brenner attended school at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Masonic and Elk Lodg es. Mr. Brenner is prominently con nected with the Sullivan-Smythfield Company, of Philadelphia, where he and his bride will reside.
