At the annual election of the B. B.
Jacob Synagogue held recently, Rabbi
Nathan N. Rosen was re-elected as
spiritual leader of the Orthodox Jewish
Community of Savannah. Although
located in Savannah for a comparatively
short time, he has succeeded in awaken

and girls and in inspiring them to take an
interest in the cultural and religious
aspects of Judaism.
Rabbi Rosen started his Jewish training
in the Chaim Berlin Parochial School in
Brooklyn, later attending the Yeshiva
High School and Erasmus Hall High
School. At college Rabbi Rosen made
an outstanding record for scholarship and
school activities. He was president of
the Student Organization of New York
City College and also of the Isaac Elch-
anan Rabbinical College, and likewise a
member of the varsity debating teams of
both colleges. While still a student at
the Rabbinical College in New Haven,
Conn., Rabbi Rosen devoted two years
exclusively to an intensive study of the
Talmud, and had the distinction of being
appointed to occupy the pulpits of all the
synagogues of New Haven during the
absence of the Chief Rabbi.
