Sidney Saul, Edmund Saul,
Ben Golden, Mildred Hersh-
berg, Alvin Saul, Harry Saul,
and this year’s co-presidents,
Gertrude Saul Fink, a name
sake of her great-grandmother,
and Dorothy Saul Rosenblum.
And now, as the story is
nearing its end, again our
thoughts turn to Solomon Isaac
and Gertrude. Could they have
ever imagined that their great-
granddaughter would be sit
ting in Atlanta, the United
States of America, in her air-
conditioned den, at an electric
machine called a typewriter,
writing about them, whom she
never saw? And thinking of
their son, her grandfather.
Mordecai Sulsky? And his six
brothers, and the many, many
relatives who are clearly set
forth on the family tree?
They would have “shepped
naches,” indeed, if they had
known that at least six of their
great, great-g randsons are
B’nai Mitzvah within this
year. How very blessed Solo
mon Isaac and Gertrude would
feel to know of the weddings
that have taken place within
the past year, among their
decendants, of the babies who
were born, of their grandson
Meyer Saul and his wife Josie
who have just celebrated their
sixtieth wedding anniversary.
It would be of more then usual
interest for them to see how
deeply rooted the members of
the families are in their re
spective communities. They are
active members of Synagogues,
members and workers in worth
while organizations, and par
ticipants in the cultural life of
their communities. Among
them are mechants, manufac
turers, doctors, lawyers—and
there are a lot of them—about
seven hundred.
Then our thoughts turn to
the present—to the Saul Re
union which took place this
year at the Mayfair Club on
June 16. At that time members
of the Saul Family met again,
recalling events of long ago,
and wondered what the future
holds.
Where will our descendents
be 150 years from now? What
marvels and new worlds are
in store for them! And we pray
that God will watch over them,
endow them with the rich
blessings of life, and give them
peace.
