Hadassah Education
Day January 31
“Contemporary Jewish Culture
on the American Scene” will be
explored in depth by the At

annual Education Day program
on Monday, Jan. 31. The event
will be held in the Hermitage
Room of the Marriott Motor
Hotel from 10:30 a. m. till 2:30
p.m. Members are asked to use
the Cain Street entrance.
Miss Polly Marson, art instruc

"Contemporary Jewish Art.’’ A
display of graphics and water
colors from the Jewish Museum
in New York will be shown and
a special group of signed litho
graphs from the Association of
American Jewish Artists of New
York will be sold at the meeting.
A “surprise" project under the
heading of “Show and Tell” has
been planned by the Szold group,
according to Mrs. Edward Stern
berg, education vice president of
the group.
Cantor Isaac Goodfriend of the
Ahavath Achim Synagogue will
present a selection of modern
Jewish songs accompanied on the

Honorary Members have already
renewed their membership by
mail;
(2) There has been a tremen

entire community compared to
last year’s Campaign; there are
now several hundred honorary

(3) Honorary members include
parents of children attending the
Hebrew Institute, and people just
interested in furthering Hebrew
education.
The Board of Trustees of the
Institute, in planning the cam
paign at the end of the year, kept
in mind the important needs of
the school this school year, 1965-
66, which include increased en
rollment of over 100 students
compared with last year, estab
lishing entirely new classes this
year for the first time, replacing
old furniture and equipment of
the school, and adding new types
of teaching aids that are used in
progressive and modem schools.
Mr. Oster noted, “The fine res
ponse of the entire community
once again proves the important
educational role that the Hebrew
Institute plays in our Jewish com
munity. Also, it shows, besides the
community’s great appreciation of
the finest afternoon Hebrew
School in the entire area, a warm
