man announces the marriage of
her daughter, Miss Harriet Myrna
Glickman of Atlanta, to Sam
uel Avery Simowitz, also of At
lanta, on March 27.
Rabbi Maynard Hyman, assist
ed by Rev. Herman Roth, per
formed the ceremony at Adas
Yeshuron Synagogue in Augusta.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Simowitz of Au
gusta.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her uncle, Max Tenen-
baum of Warrenton. Mrs. Bern
ard E. Hirsch of Savannah served
as her sister’s matron of honor
and bridesmaids were Miss Har
riet Lurey and Miss Lynne Har-
ber, both of Atlanta, and Miss
Donna Schneider of Augusta.
Dr. Frederic M. Simowitz of
Baltimore was his brother’s best
man. Ushers were Sidney Funk,
Louis Levy, Milton Ruben, Sam
uel Shapiro and Hyman Green
field.
A seated dinner in Pomerance
Hall of the Synagogue followed
the ceremony. After a wedding
trip to New Orleans, Mr. and Mrs.
Simowitz will live in Savannah.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Schaffer,
parents of Jeffrey Schaffer and
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Weitz, par
ents of Greg Weitz, invite their

in honor of their sons’ B’nai Mitz
vah.
Jeffrey Schaffer is the grand
son of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Gold
berg of the Bronx, N. Y., and
Mrs. Joseph Schaffer of Atlanta
and the late Joseph Schaffer.
Greg Weitz is the grandson of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wal
ter Hirsch and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Israel David Weitz.
Kiddish will follow after the
services.

Back in Atlanta
Dr. and Mrs. Edward R. Reis-
man and their youngest son Keith
have returned to Atlanta follow
ing a fourteen month absence
during Dr. Reisman’s sabbatical
from his Atlanta offices.
The Reisman’s spent six
months in Rochester, N.Y., where
Dr. Reisman had a temporary
faculty appointment at the Uni
versity of Rochester School of
Medicine.
A six month fellowship in the
Department of Thoracic Surgery
at Tel HaShomer Hospital in Tel
Aviv enabled the family to re
join their son Richard, 17. Rich
ard, a graduate of Henry Grady
High School, is now spending a
year in Israel on the Young Ju-
raea Work Study Program prior
to matriculating at Duke Univer
sity this coming September.
On their return trip to the
United States. the Reisman’s
travelled through Europe, mak
ing stops at various surgical cen
ters there and in Norway, Can
ada and Chicago. The family is
temporarily residing at 1710 Mer
ton Rd., N. E.
Jack Goren
Joins Staff
At Davisons
Jack Goren. vice president of
Neiman-Marcus m Dallas, will
join Davison's as vice president
and general merchandise mana
ger of the fashion store on April
18.
The announcement was made
this week by Rolland A. Max
well, Davison's president. Goren
will be a member of Davison’s
executive committee and board
of directors.
At the same time, Maxwell an
nounced the resignation of Gene
Rappaport effective April 14. Mr.
Rappaport has been vice presi
dent and general merchandise
manager for the past three years.
Goren was with Neiman-Mar
cus for 15 years and prior to that
was associated for 10 years with
Sakowitz’s of Houston.
