Couple to Repeat Vows Aug. 14
At Golden Wedding Festivities
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Rich of At
lanta will be honored by their
children as they celebrate the ob
servance of their 50th wedding
anniversary on Sunday evening,
Aug. 14 at the Ahavath Achim
Synagogue. Rabbi Harry Epstein
will conduct a marriage cere
mony in the Ellman Chapel as
the couple stand beneath the tra
ditional old fashioned wedding
chupah, which will be support
ed by their four sons. This will
be the first Golden Wedding cel
ebration taking place at the
Ahavath Achim Synagogue. Fol
lowing the wedding ceremony a
cocktail party and seated dinner
will be held in Scrochi Hall for
the 200 invited guests. Following
tiie dinner, children and grand
children of the honored couple
will present a program, along
with Cantor Isaac Goodfriend.
Mrs. Rich, the former Addie
Goldberg, is a life-long resident,
having been born in Atlanta. Mr.
Rich came to this city from Rus-
sia as a young man. They have
been engaged in the retail groc
ery business during this entire
time and Mr. Rich is still active
ly associated in business as a
partner with his son.
Their children, all of whom
live in Atlanta, with one excep
tion. have been active in the
Jewish community over a period
of years through various service
and fraternal organizations. They
are: Mrs. Nat (Dorothy) Bred-
osky. Sidney Rich, Maurice
Rich, the late Miss Lillian Rich,
William Rich of Sharon, Mass.,
Joe Rich and Mrs. Gerald (Faye)
Alpert.
Preceding the Golden Wedding
reception the family and out-of-
town guests are being entertain
ed by Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Rich
at a dinner at the Progressive
Club on Saturday evening, Aug.
13, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Rich
will be hosts at a brunch at their
home on Sunday morning.
Numerous friends from out of
the city have already acknow
ledged their acceptance to join
in the anniversary celebration.

Alhadeff—Jacobs
Marilyn Alhadeff, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Alhadeff of
Atlanta, became the bride of Jer
ome Mark Jacobs, son of Dr. and
Mrs. Sydney Jacobs of New Or
leans, on July 30 at the Shearith
Israel Synagogue. The ceremony
was performed by Rabbi Joseph
Cohen and Cantor Robert Ungar.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father. Mrs. Larry
Richman, sister of the bride, of
Philadelphia, was matron of hon
or. Bridal attendants were Mrs.
Alan Jacobs and Mrs. Myron Ja
cobs of New Orleans, sisters-in-
law of the groom; Sherry Lewis
and Minu Shetzen of Atlanta, and
Laura Rhodes of Hollywood. Fla.
The bride’s book was kept by Pat
Alhadeff and Harriet Roth of At
lanta and Adrienne Barbakoff of
Chicago, all cousins of the bride.
Dr. Sydney Jacobs was his
son’s best man. Groomsen were
Dr. Alan Jacobs, Myron Jacobs
and Joel Jacobs, brothers of the
groom, from New Orleans; Larry
Richrr.an, brother-in-law of the
bride, of Philadelphia; Norman
Alhadeff, brother of the bride,
and Abe Esral, uncle of the bride,
both of Atlanta. Ushers were
Fulton Frumin, cousin of the
groom, of Chattanooga, and Rob
ert Katz of New Orleans.
A reception was held in the
social hall of the synagogue im
mediately following the cere
mony.
After a wedding trip to Jama
ica, the newlyweds will live in
New Orleans.
Out-of-town guests attending the

Woolf, and her family in Sharon,

Narragansett Pier, R. I.

Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Rich-
man of Philadelphia announce
the birth of a daughter, Sherri
Elyse, on June 19 at Crawford
Long Hospital in Atlanta. Mrs.
Richman is the former Rochelle
Alhadeff of Atlanta. Mr. and
Mrs. Richman are spending the
summer in Atlanta with Mrs.
Richman’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Jake Alhadeff. The paternal
grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Richman of Savannah.
Sherri’s maternal great-grand
father is Solomon Alhadeff of
Atlanta and her paternal great
grandfather is Mendel Richman
of Savannah.
Laurence Richman is attending
Pa. College of Podiatry in Phil
adelphia, where he was elected
president of the Student Body for
the coming school year.
Norman Alhadeff, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Jake Alhadeff of At
lanta, is now attending the Gov
ernor’s Honors Program at Wes
leyan College in Macon. He is
a recent graduate of the Atlanta
Hebrew High School. In the
coming year, Norman will be a
senior at Braircliff High School
where he is a member of the Na
tional Honor Society, Key Club,
French Club and other school or
ganizations.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacques Storch,
daughter Dominique, and mother,
Mrs. Pauline Tchoudnovsky, of
Atlanta have just returned from
an extended trip to Europe. They
spent a month in France and
toured the countryside. They also
visited Israel for eight days and
had a brief stopover in Rome. The
Storches are active members of
the Farband Zionist Organiza
tion.

Mrs. Jerome Mark Jacobs, the
former Marilyn Alhadeff, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Alha
deff of Atlanta, graduated on
May 28 from Sophie Newcomb
College in New Orleans. Mr.
Jacobs received his B.A. degree
on May 30 from Tulane Univer
sity. At the same commencement
exercises from Tulane, Marilyn
also received her B.A. degree.
Attending the graduation from
Atlanta were Mr. and Mrs. Jake

David Eisenberg. They were en
tertained in New Orleans by rel
atives and friends of Dr. and
Mrs. Sydney Jacobs in honor of
