The Diabolical Teutonic Pattern

It’s final. Kurt Georg Kiesin-
ger, a former member of the Nazi
party, has become Chancellor of
the U. S.-built-up postwar West
Germany.
How could such a thing have
happened? Might there not have
been a deliberate design behind
the smokescreen of Teutonic pol
itics for his assumption of power
at this period well-scheduled
within a methodical time-table
conceived before the end of
World-War II in an effort to save
Germany for the future should it

face total defeat?
Surely, the cunning Nazis, who
had aspired a thousand-year life
of their perverted Reich, must
also have given some thought to
the possibility of losing the war
and, in that event, plan a blue
print for the resurrection of a
destroyed nation through the in
strumentality and leadership of
“anti-Nazis” and so-called “neu
trals” whom they “permitted” to
survive.
Konrad Adenauer fitted this
scheme perfectly. He was fully
acceptable to the victorious Al
lies. With him they built up the
new Germany albeit many old
Nazis infiltrated the regime here
and there. There was Globke,
etc.
The process was so gradual
that hardly anyone took notice.
The time-table brought Lud
wig Erhardt into the scene to re
place Der Alte at a set moment
within a powerfully-revived
State as more and more Nazis
began to rear their heads and
show themselves in public. Of
course, all this while trials were
being held against “little” Nazis
for public consumption abroad.
The signal for the Big Change
was given with the release from
Spandau prison on October 1 of
Hitler’s Albert Speer and Baldur
von Schirach. A great German
reception awaited them. Even
West Berlin’s Willy Brandt par
ticipated indirectly.
The stage was now set. Erhardt
had to give way to the former
Nazi who had awaited his day,
a day which also witnessed the
emergence of other old Nazis in
Hesse and elsewhere. But even
at this stage of the time-table, in
order not the shock the war-
weary world too much, a shock-
abserver had to be injected into
the picture — Willy Brandt who
was chosen Vice-Chancellor and
Foreign Minister.
Some years back T. H. Tetens,
through his book “The New Ger
many and the Old Nazis,” warn
ed the U. S. and the world against
the revival of Nazism in Ger
many. (Few took heed or listen
ed). So did Charles R. Allen, Jr.,
with his books “Huesinger of the
Fourth Reich” and “German
Hand on the Nuclear Trigger.”

Their voices, as that of others,
were “cries in the wilderness.”
This past week, at the Gover
nor Clinton Hotel in New York,
both authors made their voices
heard again. Tetens spoke on
“How the Neo-Nazis in West
Germany are Turning Defeat Into
Victory”; Allen on “The German
Question—Its Effect on War and
Peace.”
Perhaps this time their warn
ings will be heard.
But even now, unfortunately,
