Dr. Samuel B. Chyatte
Dr. Samuel B. Chyatte, 42, of
Atlanta died Sunday, July 30.
Funeral was held Wednesday,
Aug. 2, at Temple Sinai with
Rabbi Richard Lehrman
officiating Interment was in Crest
Lawn Memorial Park.
Dr. Chyatte, a member of
Temple Sinai, was a professor in
the department of physical
medicine at Emory University
School of Medicine. He was also a
professor of allied health
professions at Emory and was
project director of the Emory
University Regional Rehabilit
ation Research and Training
Center.
A diplomate of the Pennsyl
vania State Medical Board, Dr.
Chyatte was a member of the
Georgia State Medical Board and
the Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation Board.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Helen S. Chyatte; daughters,
Michelle and Gerri Chyatte; sons,
Scott and Brett Chyatte, of
Atlanta; and brother, Dr. Eli
Chyatte of Rockville, Md.
Contributions may be made to
the Temple Sinai Endowment
Fund or the Kidney Foundation.
Dr. Milton A. Cohen
Dr. Milton A. Cohen, 61, of
Atlanta died Saturday, July 29.
Funeral was held Tuesday, Aug.
I, at Green Lawn Chapel with
Rabbi Harry H. Esptcin
officiating. Interment was In
Greenwood Cemetery.
Dr. Cohen, an optometrist, was
a member of the Atlanta Jewish
Welfare Federation, the Ahavath
Achim Synagogue, B’nai B’rith
and the Optometrists Club.
Survivors include his wife
Myrrium (Babe) Cohen; three
sons, Darryl, Rodney and Barton
Cohen, all of Atlanta; mother,
Mrs. Lillian Cohen of Columbus,
Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys
Herwald and Mrs. Helen Carroll,
both of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs.
Gloria Edelman of Chesterfield,
Mo.; five brothers, Norman,
Erwin and Morton Cohen, all of
Columbus; Seymour Cohen of
Atlanta and Dr. Donald Cohen of
Charleston, W. Va.
A. Dave Gordon
A. Dave Gordon, 81, of Atlanta
died Monday, July 21.
Funeral was held August 2 at
Greenlawn Chapel with Rabbi
Harry H. Epstein officiating.
Mr. Gordon was the retired
owner of Gordon’s Department
Store in Buford, Ga. He was a
member of Congregation Shearith
Israel, the Royal Arch, Odd
Fellows, BPOE Lodge No. 178, the
Atlanta Jewish Community
Center and was a life member of
Buford Lodge 292, F&AM
Survivors include two
daughters, Mrs. Celia Adler and
Mrs. Patricia Geller, both of
Atlanta; four sons. Bob P., Milton
H. and Walter S. Gordon, all of
Atlanta, and Lawrence Z. Gordon
of Cumming, Ga.; a brother, H.
Sam Gordon of Atlanta and 15
grandchildren.

Mrs. Betty Mitzer
Mrs. Betty Mitzner, 72, of
Atlanta died Tuesday, Aug. I.
Graveside service was held
Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Crest Lawn
Memorial Park with Rabbi David
H. Auerbach officiating.
Mrs. Mitzner was a member of
Congregation Shearith Israel,
Hadassah, and ORT. She was
retired after 17 years at Rich’s.
Survivors include her husband,
Harry Mitzner; son, David
Mitzner of Atlanta; two sisters,
Mrs. Lil Rothberg of Atlanta and
Mrs. Selma Levin of Washington;
a brother, George Abramson of
Washington.

Mrs. Morris Hankin
Mrs. Morris (Sadie) Hankin, 76,
of Atlanta died Wednesday, Aug.
2.
Funeral was held Thursday,
Aug. 3, at Spring Hill with Rabbi
Harry H. Epstein officiating.
Interment was in Greenwood
Cemetery.
Mrs. Hankin was the widow of
Morris Hankin. She was a member
of Ahavath Achim Synagogue and
its sisterhood, Hadassah, City of
Hope and the Progressive Club.
Survivors include two
daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Natalie)
Feldman and Mrs. Frank
(Harlene) Mandel, both of
Atlanta; sister, Mrs. Lillian Tow of
Los Angeles; three grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.

On August 8, 1978, each voter in Pulton County will
have an opportunity to vote for a District Representative
and three At-Large Representatives to the Georgia General
Assembly.
We have known Charlie Carnes, Representative for
District 43, Post 1 # Fulton County At-Large, for a number
of years, and know of his high morality and consnittment
to the public interest.
Charlie has served with distinction for five terms,
and is knowledgeable, educated and sympathetic not only to
the problems of our community, but to problems in all of
Fulton County and the state.
