Along with cottons, silk is mak ing big news in spring and summer fashions. Maybe it is because silk is the fabric women mostly associate with femininty. It has been pointed out that silk appeals to each of the A fivc sen ses. Perhaps this attributes to its great popularity. The sense of torch will be pleased with the many new tex tures in silk. There are nubbod or loopy weaves, thick and thin stubbed weaves, ribbed and cord ed silks, and silk used or in terwoven with other fibers. Silk tweeds and silk linens arc two of the more popular spring fa brics . The sight sense will be da zzled by brilliant colors like hyacinth blue, hot canary yellow and orange combined, and blue greens. The student representatives to the joint committee are Prothonia Kent and Edna Jarrett. The theme of Religious Emphasis Week will be 'Basic Christian Beliefs as Applied to the University Com munity.
