“FRIENDSHIP*
"’friendship is the wine of life”,
Is a saying-old, yet true,.
It is the most important thing
That I can share with you,
A glowing smile - a willing hand,
Kind words in sympathy,
A sweet hello when ’ere we meet
Will mean true friends fcr me.
--Betty Joyce Price
THE STAGE SPEAKS
Have you ever heard of the Sa 1-
em witch trials? In 1692, thore was a
rapid surge of witchcraft delusion in
Salem Village, Massachusett . About ten
girls falsely accused certain people of
bewitching them. In the hysterical cha
os during the next four months,
one hundred people were arrested and
tried. As a result of these trials nine-
civ.ii were hanged and one was crushed
to death.
The historical events, the apprehen-
• Sive attitudes which existed, and the
hasty actions taken by the Puritans
have been captured and developed into a
distinctive drama entitled The Crucible
by Arthur Miller.
The Atlanta-Morehouse-Spelman Play
ers will present this play on December
3, and 4, in Howe Hall. Why not come?
See tor yourself what happened in Sa
lem in 1692 ’.I
