NAACP CHAPTER TO BE CHARTERED
- Janet E. Webster
Recently, a group of students ex
pressed an interest in organizing an
NAACP chapter on this campus. The SSGA
set up a committee to investigate the
possibilities of having a chapter and
found that only 25 registered and paid
members are needed to form a youth chap
ter. This committee got busy and start
ed to map out a campaign to get members.
Now that the campaign is started,
we don't want just 25, we want 125 or
more. There are a number of students
who expressed an interest in taking out
a membership and gave us their names,
with the promise to pay later. Let me
urge you to give us your |l.00 right
away. If there happens to be no one in
the Snack Shop to pay your money, you
can always give it to Rev. Rates or Mr.
Zinn. Remember, the NAACP is for YOU
