Resign
The students and faculty of More

by the resignation of two student
leaders. Tyrone Crider, Student Gov
ernment Association President and
Jerome Walker, Editor-In-Chief of the
Maroon Tiger have both announced
their resignation.
Walker cited a reorganization of prior
ities as his reason for the resignation
while Cridder cited academic concern.
Both resignations became effective in
early October.
Freshman
Service Held
At the Morehouse and Spelman Tra
ditional Workshop Service held at
Friendship Baptist Church on Sept 14, it
was plainly evident that the bonds be
tween Spelman, Morehouse, and Friend
ship Church have grown stronger
throughout the years.
Dr. Norman Rates, Spelman’s College
Minister, was there to lead the church in
a prayer. Dr. Donald Stewart was there
along with his family, to greet the fresh
man and enlighten them in detail about
the connection Spelman has with the
church. Among the members of the
church were many Spelman’s Alumni
and some of Spelman faculty.

SPELMAN COLLEGE
FINAL EXAMINATION SCHEDULE
FIRST SEMESTER, 1980-81
The Final Examination schedule for the first semester, set for December 15-19, has been released by Mrs.
Jeanne Allen, Registrar of Spelman College. Mrs. Allen made the decision during the end of the 1980 school
season to release the schedule earlier than usual.
The schedule usually does not come out until mid-November, but due to protests from students, it has
been released early. “The voice of the students brings action,” said Mrs. Allen.
In the past, the November releasing of the schedule has caused numerous problems with both students
and faculty in obtaining airplane reservations for the Christmas holidays.
Hopefully, this prompt release of the schedule will eliminate most of the problems encountered during the
holiday season.
