The principal object of the Instilution is the cduca-
tion of pious young turn, who are called to the Gospel
Ministry, and have been licensed by the church to
which they belong, and have a good report of them
that are without,—and particularly those who are in
digent—and such arc affectionately invited to bring
their testimonials and avail themselves gratuitously of
the advantages of the Institution. But as we have no
reason to believe that this cla.-* of pupils will till up
the school; i*. will receive, in addition, us many young
men of good moral character, as ran be provided fur,
irrespective of religious nentirnents. The Committee
arc ol opinion that, from the limited Mate of its present
accommodations, they will not be able to receive more
than 30 to board on th** premises the first Term. As
fas*, as our friend* may find themselves well pleased
w ith the experiment wemay make, asto contribute to
our means, wo design to enlarge our accommodations
for students, and open wider our doors for them. All
the branches of science, usually taught in grammar
schools, will bn taught in thi* Institution. No student
will bo received for less than one year—the year will
bo divided into two terms—tho first of 6 months, from
the 2d Monday in January, to the 2d in July,—the se
cond of 5 months, from tin? 3d Monday in July to the
3-i Monday in December.
Board, for all over 16 y rats of age, will be $30 for the
scholastic year, and $6 lor washing; those under 16,
Hi $5 per month, having a reasonable deduction for
their labor—each student furnishing his own bed and
candles. For want ol funds, board and tuition will be
required in advance, to be paid to the steward. Tui
tion will be $9 for the first term, to all engaged in rea
ding, writing, arithmetic, grammar, geography and his
tory. All the higher branches of science nnd the lan
guages, will be taught for $15 the first term—tho
cond in proportion.
Each student will be required to lubor 3 hours each
day, five and a half days in the week. Tho time and
kind of labor w ill be directed hy the steward, under the
control of ihe t rustces; ond each student will bo ex
pected to conform strictly to the regulations of the In
stitution. It will be expedient fur each student to hove
coarse clothes to work in ; and it is desired that the
wearing apparel of all should be plain and cheap, that
there may be os little distinction as possible, nnd that
the principle of economy may be fully earned into eve
