Tho human package of dinner or ennui entering an apartment not unlike a cushioned church pew, finds itself in a •onds carrieu to tho top of the house by tho revolution of a giant screw, to which the car is attached, as smooth ly and quietly as many a church-goer hopes that he is gliding up, hy tho ex ertion of the priest, to whom, as a sup porting column, his faith is hung. \\ e shall next expect to hear of some uio- hanicnl contrivance for putting* lazy folks to bod, and a crank mill through which they will ho run i n the morning, to come out washed, cravatcd, lied and combed, ready for the breakfast table, or rather, more proba bly, the hreakfast-stulllng machine, which will have taken its piaco.” GI'.OHGIA, Floyd c ItniERKAS, St-'iluci l’all, adtnlni \V W..f Tuqrim V.
